Dynasty Exchange: Players to Target and Players to Trade Away

There are many players each offseason that are under or overvalued based on many factors whether it be playing time concerns, injury risk, or projected changes in touches. Tons of players completely change course in whether they are trending up and down in fantasy circles. Some players that come to mind for me from this time last year were when Odell Beckham Jr. and Juju Smith-Schuster were being considered by most as the dynasty WR1 and WR2 respectively by many experts and analysts. Now both are being extremely undervalued as managers try to get the bad taste from last year off their team. The guys who I outline below are ones who I think you should either trade now as they are at their peak value, or players who you should try to trade for as I think they will outperform players who will be taken around them in startups.

Schultz Report: Big 4 Linebackers

Isaiah Simmons is one of the best defensive prospects I’ve ever seen. He’s a generational talent that will be moved all over the field to create mismatch nightmares for opposing offenses. He’s got the rare size/speed combination that allows him to bully would-be blockers to make plays in the backfield one play, and then seamlessly drop back into coverage and stick with pass catchers the next.

2020 NFL Draft Winners and Losers: Tight Ends

The tight end position wasn’t nearly as heralded in the 2020 draft as it was in 2019. While that was the case, it doesn’t mean that there weren’t a couple diamonds in the wasteland. Landing spot dependence for the tight end position might be one of the most important of all the positions. Some teams just don’t utilize the position well at all, and on other teams, tight ends flourish in their systems. These are the 2020 NFL draft’s biggest winners and losers from the tight end position.

Dynasty Rebound: Alvin Kamara

After his last season it’s easy to lose optimism in what the 2020 season holds for Alvin Kamara. The decline in touchdowns from 18 to 6 as a result of decreased red zone usage is tough to ignore and has left us all with many questions regarding the 2020 season. If you’re more of the reactionary type or one of the many fantasy owners using trades to get your fix while we wait patiently for football to return, then let me help clear things up for you before you make a huge mistake.

A Rookie Quarterback Guide for Superflex

I absolutely needed the NFL Draft to happen.  Up until about 6 weeks ago, my life basically revolved around sports.  Short of NFL season openers, mid-March was the most wonderful time of the year.  March Madness, MLB Opening Day, NFL Draft, NBA Playoffs and so on.  Instead, it all came to a screeching halt because of COVID-19.  Somehow, the NFL found a way to make the Draft work while still being safe, and for that, I thank them.

Dynasty Six Pack: 6 Rookie Sleepers to Target Late

Every season there are many consensus opinions for dynasty rookie drafts. Most of the players who are consistent contributors to your fantasy teams were at one point early picks in dynasty rookie drafts, but also every year there are players who slip through the cracks in the drafting process. These are who I project will be some of the Darius Slayton or the Preston Williams type of players who turned a few FAAB dollars into a mid second round value in trades, or locked in a spot on your roster. This article isn’t to say that you should be valuing that 6th round wide receiver who’s getting some hype in training camp (if it even happens this year) over guys like Bryan Edwards or Zack Moss. For every Darius Slayton or Preston Williams there’s many more Darwin Thompson’s who had an ADP in the 1st round of rookie drafts at one point last year which amounted to nothing. These are just some of the guys I’m targeting in the 4th or 5th round of my rookie drafts or allocating a decent amount of FAAB dollars to. I’m not necessarily saying all these guys will become fantasy relevant to the casual player sometime in the near future, but these are six guys who I’m keeping on my watch list in my leagues.

2020 NFL Draft Winners & Losers: Wide Receivers

The 2020 draft carried one of the deepest wide receiver groups in NFL history. There were thirteen taken in the first two rounds and thirty-seven total. Usually the wide receiver landing spots don’t change roster outlooks as much as other positions because teams can carry multiple successful receivers, but when this amount of talent at any position enters the league at once, there is a little bit more of a shakeup. These are the 2020 NFL draft’s biggest winners and losers from the wide receiver position.

2020 NFL Draft Winners and Losers: Running backs

The 2020 draft is in the books, and boy was it a doozy. The virus forcing it to be virtual, will be what everyone will remember, but the amount of offensive skill players will be a close second. The top five running backs taken have a lot of similarities to the great running back draft class of 2017. The landing spots of the top running backs are always what affect our dynasty draft orders the most. These are the 2020 NFL draft’s biggest winners and losers from the running back position.
